🤝Internship Memories: Thank You JKR
Assalamualaikum and hello :)
For the past two months, I had the opportunity to undertake an eight-week internship at a government organization, Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR). Together with my fellow university interns, we didn’t go there with the expectation of securing a future job, but rather to learn, observe, and truly understand the inner workings of JKR.
In the first week, we were divided into two groups and assigned to different departments, Project and UPIKE. During my time there, I gained a deeper understanding of how engineers work in real life. They are super busy! I also realized that what we study in university is applied maybe 40% in the field, while the remaining 60% requires hands-on experience and practical problem-solving.
My eight weeks at JKR CKE not only allowed me to grow personally, but also helped me gain new skills in the basics of engineering knowledge and experience I never had before. I learned about the functions of traffic lights, street lights, and the processes behind them. But more importantly, I developed a new sense of professionalism and a clearer picture of what it truly means to work in the professional world.
Throughout this journey, I met so many amazing people from senior engineers to fellow interns from other universities. It was such a fun and lucky experience to meet all of you. Even though some of them were younger than me, their energy and character made it feel like we were all the same age. Unfortunately, we didn’t have much time to hang out together, but InsyaAllah, we’ll stay in touch and plan something again in the future. Don’t be sad!
Thank you guys for coming into my life I’m so grateful to have known all of you. Just because the internship ended, it doesn’t mean our bond has to end too. Let’s keep in contact, and hopefully, one day we’ll be celebrating one of us getting married! ^_^
Assalamualaikum and bye :)
