Life, Family & Marriage Questions ✨

By Izzatie - October 25, 2019

Assalamualaikum and hi :)

How are you guys doing? Is everything okay? For me, Alhamdulillah, everything is fine for now, and InsyaAllah, it will always be okay.

Some people say I’m a mysterious person. Is that true? I don’t think so. Just because I don’t share much about my family on social media doesn’t mean I’m a mystery.

So today, I’ll share a little about my family. As most of you know, I lost my father in 2011. Since then, I’ve been living with my mom and siblings. My sister is a nurse in Selangor, and I have two brothers and one younger sister. My sister has two children from her previous marriage her son lives with us, while her other child stays with her ex-husband.

A lot of people often ask me: “When are you getting married?” Honestly, I don’t really have an answer. It’s not that I’m against commitment, but I admit I have some trauma regarding marriage because of what I’ve seen in my mom’s, my sister’s, and my aunty’s past experiences.

After my dad passed away, my mom remarried but eventually divorced. The same happened with my sister. It wasn’t due to abuse, but simply because they were not compatible.

So back to the question, when will I get married? I don’t know. For now, I just want to enjoy my life. Allah has already promised that one day, everyone will meet their partner. I just need to put my trust in Him. I pray earnestly and always ask for His guidance, and I believe that one day, I will meet the right person.

As for my criteria for a future husband, I just want someone with faith in Allah. A husband who can guide me to Jannah, who can be my best friend, and even my rival at times. Someone who loves his mother and family. I’m not a materialistic person.

My nephew once told me: “Angah, don’t get married. If you get married and have a baby, you won’t have time for me anymore.” He loves me so much that he doesn’t even want to give me permission to get married, haha.

Assalamualaikum and bye :)
